Lee has a conversation with me in this episode of Her Wild Outdoors about transitioning from small game to large game in hunting. Lee is a great fisherman and had dabbled in small game. She has, since we recorded, harvested her first bear! I am so excited to go back and listen as she was preparing for this season. Bobby joins me for a great conversation about growing up hunting and how it changes and evolves especially when you add three daughters to the mix! We discuss how he is prepping for a lifetime with his daughters in the outdoors, how important it is to have a plan and the growth we have as hunters when we mentor and teach another person to hunt. Mark joins me for a conversation about starting Grizzly Ears.  We talk about his hunting experience and how much he loves being out there and how Grizzly Ears has been beneficial to the hunting industry and more. We also get to talk about Thor the amazing Labrador who is a versatile hunting dog. Mark talks a bit about the hunting industry and community.  We cover what it is like to own a company in this day in age and how finding people to represent his company can be hard to come by. How many women do you know are graduates of Army Ranger School and have harvested a beautiful bull elk? Lt. Colonel Lisa Jaster sits down and has a great conversation with me about her time in the US Army and Army Reserves. She and I discuss how important the outdoors is in our life and in our families lives. We also talk about men and women in "traditional roles". Her platform "delete the adjective" is one that she is passionate about. We discuss how we all have our differences but we all have some commonalities as well. Is it necessary to talk about us saying "she is a female hunter"? Or to say "he is a male hunter"? Same for the military..."she is a female soldier". It is a double emphasis on gender instead of what you are truly defining. I am grateful for Lisa and her conversation. Let us know what you think!

McKayla joins me in a conversation discussing the importance of mindset! We talk about how her life was changed in a moment and what her support system has meant to her physically and mentally. We talk about hunting before the accident and after.  McKayla is a strong minded woman who knows what she wants and where she wants to be. The question how can I help vs what can I do for you is something to keep in mind when supporting someone with a disability! I found Lyndsey through a friend on Instagram and the first video I watched was the one of her loading up her buck in the back of her truck solo. Girl is keeping it real out there. We recorded this podcast and had a laugh doing it. Enjoy hearing all about how she began in the outdoors but also how it has evolved over time. We all grow in our hunting and taking that step out of the familiar into the new can be intimidating. She does it with grace and strength as well as a heap of confidence and mojo! Amanda and I sat down one morning talking and laughing for almost an hour and then decided to press record! We dove into how she got started hunting and how that influenced her desire to pass it on. She and I discussed how social media and reality can go hand in hand only when there is transparency. Amanda is involved in so many things from That Hunting Girl to the Women's Hunting Association, but her heart is 100% involved in hands on education and encouragement of women around her. This strong and selfless hunter overcame adversity, abuse and low self worth by learning independence in ability to hunting mentor others.
